We had a lovely trip in Namibia and as first timers it was extremely valuable to have someone planning and doing the bookings for us. We would never have been able to arrange such a wonderful trip ourselves! January and February are nice months to visit Namibia. It's off-season and campsites are less crowded. In many campsites we were the only guests. We really enjoyed especially these campsites: Camp Gecko, Ugab Rhino Camp, Desert Breeze, Mowani Mountain Camp and Ngepi Camp.
- Improvements or suggestions
- We enjoyed visiting Ugab Rhino camp and the drive from there was a true adventure. Everything went well and my spouse is a very good driver. However, we felt that it would be good to make sure everyone booking this camp are truly aware of the conditions and difficulty of the road. The weather was really hot and we were the only ones driving there for many days and no cellphone connection was available. The drive was cool, but it's not for everyone. The situation is of course different during high-season when there are more people driving. The app was good and overall working nicely. However it was sometimes difficult to remember where to find the needed information since it has so many sections. Some of the accomodations information also needs to be updated.

- Very flexible and fast service. Everything was easy and we got fast responses to all our questions. The accomodations booked were nice and we would also liked the rental car company very much (asco).

First of all, we want to thank you for an amazing expirience, from the begining till the end. The self driving expitience was phenomenal. The feeling of being part of the savana, day and night. I thank you for this oppertiunity. Coming back for sure!

Everything we hoped for. Really well planned and everything worked. Good balanced plans for every day and great campsites.

- Well planned days and good camp sites. Not necessarily luxurious camp sites, but they had their charm. The roof tent worked fine

- We are not very good at using "relax day", which gave us a small planning issue in Kasane. It might be good idea to consider one or two nights in lodge in some national parks, as it makes it easier to start morning game drives at sunrise. Booking in rain season makes driving in sand easier, but it makes crossing water more difficult.

- The two days stopovers location were not ideally planned and would have been better in more interesting places such as national parks, some could even have been avoided to allow more time in the interesting ones but overall planning very good.

Using our tour self drive requests, they put together our 29 day itinerary. It was a nice mix between camping and resorts. Our trip information was well documented and we were able to follow day by day. Upon arrival at camps + lodges, the paperwork was organised.

Excellent holiday around Namibia on a self 4WD. All very well organised by the company, 4WD vehicle was excellent, campsites and other accommodation booked also excellent. The app was incredibly useful and the company answered all my questions before the trip with patience!

- A better map/info could be provided for the ‘adventurous route’ between Ugab and Twyfelfontein - for 6 hours we were unsure we were going the right way!!

- Some of the tracks are tricky , but advise was given and you learn as you go. I would suggest that a satellite phone is carried purely for peace of mind, should things go wrong. There was no Cell coverage .

Every detail of our trip was perfect. All the vouchers, the truck rental, the app; everything worked great and we drove and camped with confidence. The campsites were great and we had a very enjoyable experience.

- The GPS was OK. The car rental company showed us how to use it but it didn't have Tracks4Africa loaded to it. It still got us around, but we downloaded the Tracks4Africa app to our phone and bought the USD$12.99 country map and that was amazing. The app showed a much greater detail and it showed us where we were at all times. This was particularly important in places like Moremi Game Reserve and around Kudu Island.

From the very start my experience was excellent.I started out with a basic plan of where I wanted to go.The guy who dealt with my trip,Mike Van Den Oord, started out with an itinerary.I was in contact with him throughout until I settled on the places that I wanted to visit.He was very helpful throughout the whole process and whenever I emailed him about anything he replied to me within a couple of days but most of the time straight away.

- I don't know if this has to do with this company or the car hire company.On my schedule it would tell me to use the Tracks 4 Africa on the GPS to find the various campsites.A couple of these sites were not recognised however I tried various ways on the keypad.But this is just a minor thing and I found the places I was looking for eventually

- I cannot think about the company strengths.The service they provided me with was 1st rate and I had all the information I needed for my trip a long time before it started so it was easy for me to prepare in advance

I really recommend self drive for planning your adventurous trip in Africa! First all the car drives schedules were precise and the mix in lodge and camping were very much welcome with the 8 years old as suggested by Mike. We had a fridge issue but all along the way you can get assistance and we get it repaired in Kasane. Also we had the booking confusion at the Kruger and the assistance worked well with Marco by WhatsApp. Very much appreciated to be alone with those supports. We haven’t took the satellite phone as we were equipped with a Starlink antenna but not available in South Africa.

- We pinched the tire once and the Jack is not the best one considering the 4x4 tyre size. We had to get assistance by locals to use a very standard one that lift the car higher.
