No-nonsense approach, which was identical to the ship I purchased. Man of appointments, action and time for the customer, which was experienced as very pleasant. Satisfied from the first telephone contact to delivery and handover, my thanks!

4 years ago sailor friends of mine, recommended White Whale Yachtbrokers as a trustworthy company.

Strengths of White Whale

Trustworthy, you won't get disappointed when flying down to look at the vessel. Luka shows the "truth" and sents pictures of all the flaws, and broken parts as a used yacht have beforehand.

Change company name:-P First boat I bought(JO36), I hit a Sperm Whale mid atlantic causing the rudder to delaminate and made damage in the front. Second boat(OCEANIS 50) I hit a Sperm Whale mid... Second boat(OCEANIS 50) I hit a Sperm Whale mid pacific (1.500nm from shore), causing the boat to sink in 1 hour. So maybe a name not mentioning a whale? I like buying boats from Luka, but as a said to him in Croatia. "If I come back within 3 years, things didn't go as planned with this vessel."

Generally, no strong comments here.. Had to do some chasing but otherwise very good experience. There was an issue with vat on the deal. The irish expereince on this point is different on this and... Perhpas more sensitivity to other country regulations might be needed.

The photographs used by the seller to advertise a 1991 Vickers 41 yacht for sale in Cadiz, Spain, were previously used by another broker, Boatshed.com. In other words, the photographs were over 17... The photographs used by the seller to advertise a 1991 Vickers 41 yacht for sale in Cadiz, Spain, were previously used by another broker, Boatshed.com. In other words, the photographs were over 17 years old and no longer representative of the condition of the boat. As potential buyers, my colleague and I were caught out by this; we entered into a contract to buy the yacht (subject to survey), paid a 10% prepayment, and traveled half way around the world to view and test sail the yacht. When we saw the yacht, we were dismayed to see that it is was in a state of neglect; it did not measure up to the broker's description, assurances or photographs. The surveyor's report identified many defects and he concluded his assessment with the following: “The equipment of the boat and its maintenance can be considered as lower/worse than the average of similar boats.” The surveyor’s valuation indicated that the asking price for the yacht was inflated by as much as 35%.
After an investigation, Frans, the White Whale Yachtbroker (WWY) representative in Spain, acknowledged that the photos were indeed over 17 years old and that he had also been misled by the seller. The sales contract was cancelled, and WWY Spain refunded our prepayment in full.

He gave a realistic price proposal and realised this price by selling. He prepared a well informing exposé, took always a lot of time and he was always a fair partner for both sides. During the whole procedure we had the feeling of being in good hands.
