Making a reservation was easy, but the vehicle and the way I was treated by the representative was horrible. First of all, regardless what their web page states, they told me that the only car that they rent for one day is a Toyota Land Rover. Next, don't believe the pictures on the website. They show a nice pristine Land Rover. What we received was a 2008 Land Rover in rough shape and with no working A/C and no where to plug in our mobile devices to keep them recharged. Since we needed at least one device to use GPS & maps for directions, this is s critical feature. When I mentioned to the representative (I do not remember his name, but he & his wife of 30? years met the group at the pier) that the A/C was not working, he laughed very loudly and said, "Well, I guess you'll be riding with the windows open!" I mentioned the high heat and then he said, "Don't worry about it. I'll call the mechanic and he'll meet you. Don't worry, we'll come to you." By his demeanor and the tone of his voice, I knew that he was being insincere. He didn't offer another vehicle or a discount. He lied to me. That was yesterday. I still have not heard from a mechanic. The vehicle handled poorly and pulled strongly to the left when I had to press the brakes. On an 86°F day with high humidity, riding around without A/C is not fun, especially when someone in your group suffers with health issues. If you decide to rent from this company, DO NOT HAND OVER ANY MONEY UNTIL YOU COMPLETELY CHECK OUT THE VEHICLE. You've been warned. I do not recommend this company. Not only was the vehicle a piece of crap, but we rented a MUCH nicer and larger vehicle on Aruba the day before at almost a third of the price. $95 vs $175. These places on Bonaire have crazy high prices.

Without a doubt, the best option for a single day rental at the cruise port. The team met us at the entrance to the pier and we were escorted to the car. The Land Rover was perfect for cruising around the island and we gleefully left the flotilla of golf carts in our dust (going the speed limit of course). Everything worked including the air conditioning! Look no further for your car rental needs than Royal.

Rental was smooth to make online. Excellent Customer Service provided by owner, when they met me at the cruise port in Bonaire for 1 day rental of Land Rover. They were very kind, helpful and clear in their communications. Only down side was the Land Rover appeared somewhat older, cracked dash and was told not to lock it when we weren't in it for fear of theirs breaking windows. Cracked dash didn't affect our drive, but it was surprising based on the price paid. I plan to be back in Bonaire in December 2024 and will need a 1 day rental again. I will consider Royal again as I wasn't disappointed. The Land Rover allowed us to enjoy the beautiful island for a full day/night without issue. The A/C worked, so that was fabulous, as it was super hot. I would recommend Royal.

Geweldige service. Bij een melding van een probleem met de auto stond na overleg binnen een uur een nieuwe auto klaar bij ons appartement. Auto wordt brandschoon opgeleverd met 2 prachtige badhanddoeken en 2 strandstoelen.

Excellent service and amazing car. We booked only for one day but they were really flexible with pick-up and drop off changes. We got beach chairs and blanket also which was a really nice and surprising gesture. Thank you royal car rental. Hope see you soon in the future

We rented two cars and both were waiting for us to pick up at the airport. We had no problems with them (Land Rovers are great for some of the roads in Bonaire!) and appreciated the space for diving gear. On the way to the airport to leave, we hit something, causing a tire to start to go flat, reported it, and they were very understanding. We would definitely rent with them again because of their good service, and appreciated that there weren't a bunch of fees or add-ons like some companies. (We did get their insurance, which was quite reasonable).

Flawless experience with this company. Great vehicle, easy pick up and drop off, and thoughtful bonuses other companies don’t offer. If we come back to Bonaire, I know exactly who to contact.

Excellent service and cars

Nice people in Netherlands and Bonaire. Sometimes communication problems between. And many little car issues: one only one quarter filled; no windshield wiper fluid; some error messages concerning the emergency brake. Nevertheless, we enjoyed the two Land Rovers and put them to good use.
