Nice people and quality vehicle. However the policies of Avis are inconvenient, technologically outdated, and overall disappointing. In particular here are three things: (i) I've literally rented cars in dozens of countries and companies, and I have NEVER been required to bring a piece of mail with me... I do not even GET mail anymore - invoices are online these days. It is an archaic requirement that serves no purpose - you have my Dutch drivers license and credit card! (ii) Your bank gets a €900 payment from my bank for the deposit... and I have to WRITE DOWN MY BANK ACCOUNT DETAILS so you can give me my money back?? This is archaic, time consuming, and redundant. Your system should know where the money comes from. I run a small business and I know where my payments come from. Ridiculous. It introduces two additional points of possible error into the system and time and inconvenience and it is REDUNDANT because you have this information (iii) I can transfer money to your account in a fraction of a second and it takes 5 business days to return my money?? That is borderline theft. You could return my money IMMEDIATELY (like ALL your competitors do), but you do not because you make money from my money and so you keep it as long as possible. When I called your help line to ask why it takes so long they said 'because that is the way the banks work'. That is very disingenuous and bordering on an outward lie. That is NOT how banks work - that is how AVIS works. I can return a payment to a customer with a button click - and you have an entire multinational corporation and resources. Give me a break...
