I was extremely disappointed with the cooking skills element of the course, to the degree that I learnt nothing new. While some course members may have learnt new techniques, this was entirely dependent on the task they were given. There is quite a different skillset required for making a tarte tatin, for example, than frying some bacon lardons; the task I was charged with.
The food itself was nice, as was the experience of eating together with the other course members. I also do intend to try out the recipes in the book that I received.
If you are a complete novice in the kitchen, this may be the course for you. If, like me, you cook often and want to learn something new, you may want to look elsewhere.
