Very hard to beat trip! What a great experience! We recommend this company 100%, you won’t regret. It’s been the trip of our lives.

Strengths

We booked a trip for the four of us (two adults plus two kids, 13 and 16) through Namibia, Botswana and the Victoria Falls, starting and ending in Windhoek. It was adapted a bit to our time schedule, we had 22 days in total. Our main contact was Marco, who was very professional, always responding quickly to our questions and doubts. Two weeks before departure we had a long virtual meeting with him which was very helpful. We did lots of km (5.200 in total), but the driving was always fun, with the changing landscape and types of road, from tar to gravel, sand and deep, deep sand. The combination of camps and B&Bs was excellent, we specially enjoyed the Gecko Camp (get the Moonlight site) and the Tree House at NGepi, with many hippos in front of us for the whole stay. Reaching Kubu Island was quite an adventure, what a special place! And we enjoyed a lot Moremi, where we saw lions, eight in total, the last morning in the park, in Khwai. We also booked a trip to Sandwich Harbour through another company (Amazing 5 Tours) which was a great and fun experience, very recommended. Bushlore, the vehicle company, was great too. Their staff dedicated to us a long hour to explain us all the details about the car (other companies only devote 10 min to this). We had an issue with the fridge at the middle of the trip, but it was quickly solved in Kasane, at the Bushlore office there. We had also only one flat tire, very easy to change. The Toyota Hilux that we rented (with two roof tents) was great in all terrain.

Improvements or suggestions

All was excellent, I will only list a few suggestions: We found very useful to combine the GPS provided by Bushlore with other mapping resources: We installed the Tracks4Africa app in our mobile phone, and bought the detailed map of Africa. That was very useful, particularly in Moremi, all little roads appear there! We found also several tracks at Wikiloc which were very useful, particularly to reach and leave Kubu Island, where roads are not always obvious. Google Maps was also useful, for example in Etosha, to detect all the waterholes. We got SIM cards in Namibia (MTC) and Botswana (Mascom), which we found useful, particularly in Namibia where we found a better network. We also found the roads better in Namibia than Botswana (lots of potholes!).
