I had a family rug, an antique wool rug with frayed finge. It reeked of generations of dogs. pugs, pee. I'm not going to lie. I had sent it to Stanley Steamer and they couldn't get the smell out, so I had wrapped it in a tarp line a dead body and had it in the garage. Stein rug cleaning was my last hope. I read all the reviews and talked to them on the phone, I think his name was David and he said they could get it out! They had my rug for a month soaking it in a magical enzyme and repairing the fringe.
