Good quality but cost of order confusing and misleading. Separation of VAT, very high shipping cost, no 10% discount for first order and no free shipping over €100 made it far more expensive than anticipated.

We try to be as clear and transparent as possible regarding our prices. Since the majority of customers ordering through our ziloen.com webshop orders from outside of the EU (in which case VAT is not applicable), the prices shown in our webshop are excl. VAT. This is clearly mentioned below the price. If during check-out, a country within the EU is selected, VAT will be applied again on all prices. Our shipping costs and free shipping threshold are clearly mentioned on our Shipping & Delivery page. Increased shipping prices in the past years unfortunately make it impossible for us to offer free shipping for orders below €300.
Regarding the 10% discount for first orders: we know many companies offer a first time customer discount or have regular discount promotions. However, we consciously made the decision not to participate in this trend. We offer small and sustainable brands in our shop, with items made of high quality material and in timeless designs, for our customers to enjoy for a long time (truly the opposite of fast fashion!). The margins of these type of brands are often rather small, which makes it impossible for us to participate in regular, big discount promotions. Only every once in a while we'll have a discount promotion, which we'll inform our customers about through our newsletter and social media channels. I hope you can understand and appreciate our point of view regarding this matter.
