I loved the Museum experience when there, ordering a three way international purchase proved to be yet another matter. I’ll assume the majority of the blame as I am not well versed with online purchasing or international shipping. As I write this, the (very) special gift I’m sending to a dear friend, languishes in DHL’s possession an extra day due to my lack of understanding of international customs practices. I had thought that when I concluded the transaction with the Van Gogh Museum that all fees had been paid. Therefore, I didn’t understand that additional customs fees would require further payment.
Improvements or suggestions
Perhaps in the future you could include the customs fees for the applicable countries so payment would only be required once or advise the purchaser that future additional fee will be imposed prior to delivery. In that way the process can continue uninterrupted.
